customs house and the loop line

A fascinating photo, because this view has changed dramatically since it was taken in the 1980s.
The Customs House, Liberty Hall and Busarus are visible on the north side of the Liffey. Tara Street Station is visible in the centre of the photo, surrounded by sites now occupied by Ulster Bank buildings, the 2002 "Pyramid" buildings, the new Pearse Street fire Station, and a number of smaller apartment , office, and corporation developments. The old Markievicz Swimming Pool can also still be seen behind the (now demolished) tall office block on corner of Tara Street and Townsend Street.
