stillorgan shopping centre 10
The Stillorgan sign on the west side of the centre. The plants didn't make it here so well as the north sign, probably because this sign (and it's associated plants) is more exposed to the public and potential damage. Notice how they've now stuck a trolley bay in front of the sign. This very early feature has now lost its meaning as an important brand of the centre, so they stick crap in front of it. Back when it was new, they no doubt considered it to be of utmost importance, and probably wanted it kept that way.
This is Stillorgan Shopping Centre in South Dublin, Ireland's first "real" Shopping Centre (1966 I think). It still has most of its 60s features, which we'll see in this bunch of photos.
